 ISM Alumni Network Unites, Takes Off

Former members of the Ibusa Singles Meet Worldwide (ISM) have formed the ISM Alumni Network (ISM-Network), a new platform aimed at sustaining the bonds of friendship and community service established during their years in the group.


The ISM-Network currently comprises more than 80 members, all of whom have ancestral ties to Ibusa. While the current membership is drawn from a selection of former ISM members, other past members interested in joining the network are expected to indicate interest for membership.


At its inaugural general meeting, the group formed an executive body headed by Ifeyinwa Izegbu as President, with Victor Onwuka as Vice President, Mrs. Joyce Ifesindi as the General Secretary and other executive members.


The meeting also outlined several objectives for the new organisation. These include maintaining the friendships formed during the Ibusa Singles Meet years, organising social gatherings and reunions to keep members connected, undertaking charitable and community development projects in Ibusa, and promoting personal and family development through talks, seminars and other activities.


The network has also established a Welfare Department headed by Anthony Morha, which is expected to play a key role in promoting the wellbeing of members.


The ISM Alumni Network, a sister organisation of the Ibusa Singles Meet, is expected to contribute to the social development of the Ibusa community through its activities and collective initiatives.


The Ibusa Singles Meet Worldwide (ISM), Ibusa community's foremost singles groups, was founded by Emeka Esogbue, the author of this report, with the objective of bringing together singles of Ibusa extraction. The group also promotes marriage among Ibusa people.


According to records from the group, 44 members have so far married through relationships formed within the ISM, with the most recent marriage celebrated in 2025.


With the emergence of the alumni network, former members of ISM now have a dedicated platform to sustain the friendships, social connections and community-oriented values developed during their years in the singles group.
