Augustine Anonyai Ojei, Seasoned Accountant Shares Insightful Recollections of Historical Bond Between Ibusa and Issele-Azagba - Emeka Esogbue Chief Augustine Anonyai Ojei, a Lagos-based Chartered Accountant (ICAN) and Economist from Issele-Azagba community in Delta State has shared with Pen Master, the healthy relationship shared between Ibusa and his Issele-Azagba, community. According to him, Issele-Azagba and Ibusa share relationships in diverse ways and have related in different socio-cultural means including marriage and trade. He pointed out that the paternal grandmother of the immediate past traditional ruler of the community, Agbogidi Obi Francis Jidouwa Ijei II, was from the Ibusa community specifically from Ezukwu. The Ibusa-Issele-Azagba is also a cemented link of marriages between the people of both communities - linking Aniocha South and Oshimili North, two local government areas. One of the effects of the contact with the Europeans was the change of the names of the African societies and the people of Enuani Nation, an Anioma subgroup are not left out. However, while several African societies have reversed their pre-colonial traditional names, these Enuani communities are stuck with their colonial names. Sorrow in Issele-Azagba, Anioma Community as the Ogbele-Ani Passes On   - Emeka Esogbue   Issele-Azagba, an Anioma community was thrown into mourning following the reported passing away of Chief Sunday Uwandulu, the Ogbele-Ani of the community.  PEN MASTER learned that Chief Sunday Uwandulu (Ukadike), the Ogbelani-Ani of Issele-Azagba Kingdom passed away on Sunday.  The Ogbele-Ani who hailed from the Ogbe-Onicha Quarter of the community is considered to be a hero due to his exploits in the Nigerian Civil War.  Comrade Maha Jude Ifechukwude, a relative of the late High Chief who spoke to PEN MASTER on the phone, described him as a man of integrity and as one with a heart of gold who went all out to assist the Issele-Azagba Kingdom to grow over the last few decades and also made philanthropic contributions in the lives of Issele-Azagba indigenes and beyond.   Funeral arrangements will be announced by his family in due course.
