 Ibusa's Transition from a Rural Community to a Semi-Urban Town By Emeka Esogbue Ibusa has gradually evolved from a predominantly rural community into a semi-urban town through a combination of population growth, improved infrastructure, economic diversification, and its strategic proximity to Asaba, the capital of Delta State. The community's population has increased steadily through natural population growth and the return of many indigenes who had previously lived in major Nigerian cities. Following the creation of Delta State in 1991, numerous Ibusa families relocated home, attracted by the opportunities presented by the new state.
