 Ibusa Community Development Union Worldwide Holds Annual Conference in Ibusa, New Officers Elected into Offices - Mandates Youths Above 18 to Register Membership or Risk Revocation of Communal Rights Story By Emeka Esogbue The Ibusa Community Development Union Worldwide also known as "ICDU - Worldwide" held its annual conference on April 19, 2025 in the community. The event which was held inside Nkata, the Diokpa's Palace in Umueze axis of the community had in attendance hundreds of members and other indigenes of the community from different countries of the world. The Town Union also took the opportunity to conduct an election in which new executive officers were elected into offices.  From Obiship Itchi Observances, Obi Dr. Henry Ajudua Salutes the Ibusa People - Emeka Esogbue As Obi Dr Henry Ajudua's Itchi rites of Obiship continues in his Ibusa hometown, the cultural participant has sent his salutations to the Ibusa people.  Obi Dr. Henry Ajudua, the newest Ibusa Obi, is in Itchi as part of a big cultural observances and is almost finished with the traditional process that would reveal him to the community as Obi.  Following this ceremony, he will be brought to the Udoh ground, where he will ultimately don the indigenous anklet known as "eli li ukwu."  As required by custom, his spouse, Queen B, the late Chief Elizabeth Njideaka's daughter, would also benefit from the Obiship position. Music Development in Ibusa: A Personal Account - Part Two By Emeka Esogbue "Egwu ka anyi bia li, ndi bia li ogu wa naa ana." - Dana 'Agility' Okonji One day, my father returned from work with an album, and in his usual hurried move to his turntable, he opened the cover and at a fast pace, dropped the album on the music device. The song was slightly odd as it came with a strange account of the Nigerian Civil War. The artists were young Ibusa men from the Ogboli axis of the community. After the civil war of 1967 to 1970, a group of Ibusa young men under the auspices of Otu Ofu Ndu visited the studio to record an album. Disposed to warfare but mourning the losses and destructions that came with the war, they invoked the people's sympathy with the 'cry.' Preserving Monuments; Preserving the Tomorrow of our Ibusa - Emeka Esogbue The Ibusa community has a rich history, cultural legacy, values, artwork, architecture, and possible historical sites, but none of them appear to have been preserved. The Ani Oshe is the original location of habitation for the Igbuzo people. There is also the Ani Udo site, which is thought to be the initial settlement of Edini, Ogboli's founder, and is now part of the Ibusa community. In contrast, both hallowed places, spiritually exalted by divine sanction and holding the utmost devotion and entitled to tremendous reverence since they are inviolable, consecrated, and devoted to sanctity as the oldest Igbuzo points of settlement, are utterly neglected.  ALLOW ME TO PRESIDE OVER A UNITED UMUODAFE VILLAGE - Onowu Joseph Adinlofu Begs Umuodafe People of Ibusa - Constitutes Peace Panel to United the Families By Emeka Esogbue In a manner precedented by peace-loving traditional leaders and people vested with custodianship of the people's heritage, the Diokpa of Umuodafe, one of the quarters that make up the Ibusa community in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, has appealed to the indigenes of Umuodafe to give peace a chance. The 95-year old Diokpa, in a 16-clause communique, published on Thursday in the Vanguard Newspaper of August 18, 2022, revealed that the bone of contention was issues regarding ownership and administration of land in his Umuodafe domain.
