UWOLO CRISIS TEARS IBUSA COMMUNITY APART

UWOLO CRISIS TEARS IBUSA COMMUNITY APART Story By Emeka Esogbue There are indications that all is not well in Ibusa community in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State following an alleged removal of the Uwolo of the community, Chief Amaechi Nwaenie and consequent replacement.  PEN MASTER can report that indigenes fear that the community, struggling to return from the Obuzo-Diokpa crisis since 1995, is finding its way back on another path of major social crisis. Trouble started when on June 21, 2023, a video clip was circulated on social media, showing a ceremony in which Chief Amaechi Nwaenie, the Uwolo of Ibusa was allegedly removed from traditional office and replaced with Ogbuu Agiliga Umunna who was later seen in another video chalked by the 104-year old Diokpa of the community, Onowu Paul Ijeh.  Since then, the people of the community from the various quarters have been trading blames. Typically, both sides of the divide have stuck to their guns, justifying ...

Visiting the Ibusa Development: Enter Victor Uchunor, a Thinker of the People's Growth

Visiting the Ibusa Development: Enter Victor Uchunor, a Thinker of the People's Growth "Secondly, the time has come for us as a community to think of development. The idea of "Ego di n'oshia" should be a thing of the past. This is because after two years, four years, we are not able to lay a foundation for the development of the community, then questions should arise as to what role we played. What can they say after our exit on the idea of utilizing the resources of the community? There is nothing that stops Umuodafe for example from having a big hall as in Umuodafe community hall.  HON ESEWEZIE AND HILARY OKOBI, CARRYING THE POLITICAL HOPE OF IBUSA - HOW THE DUO BLESSED THE COMMUNITY WITH INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT - Report by Emeka Esogbue (Pen Master) A sigh of relief which will reduce the arduous search for a standard event center for use has come the way of event planners and their guests in Ibusa and environs.  Ibusa, one of the major communities in Oshimili North Local Government Area of the state had seriously faced dearth of standard halls, classically for the use of people to hold events and executive meetings until a few weeks ago when the current Executive Chairman of the Oshimili North Council embarked on the renovation of an unrepair Oshimili North LGA Liaison building in the community and converted it to elegance.  Before now, event planners faced the difficulty of holding events in the community with Asaba as the usual option where the occasion is to be large but all that ended with the executive choice of Hon Esewezie, the man they...
