HON ESEWEZIE AND HILARY OKOBI, CARRYING THE POLITICAL HOPE OF IBUSA
- HOW THE DUO BLESSED THE COMMUNITY WITH INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT

A sigh of relief which will reduce the arduous search for a standard event center for use has come the way of event planners and their guests in Ibusa and environs.
Ibusa, one of the major communities in Oshimili North Local Government Area of the state had seriously faced dearth of standard halls, classically for the use of people to hold events and executive meetings until a few weeks ago when the current Executive Chairman of the Oshimili North Council embarked on the renovation of an unrepair Oshimili North LGA Liaison building in the community and converted it to elegance.
Before now, event planners faced the difficulty of holding events in the community with Asaba as the usual option where the occasion is to be large but all that ended with the executive choice of Hon Esewezie, the man they now nickname "Ozigbo Ozigbo", implying "immediately" in local parlance. By these and other related spectacular ventures, the Ozigbo Ozigbo now appears extraordinarily fit in the regeneration of old buildings and unfit buildings into structures with wealthy and comfortable necessity.
As many say, this is not coming as a surprise for the people of Ibusa who are now used to his largesse of political delivery. Esewezie had previously revived the Ogbeowele Town Hall to modern use and reworked Nkata, the Diokpa Palace in Umueze, an achievement that endeared him to Late Prof Anthony Arinze, the then Ibusa Community Development Union President-General and the Union.
The event centre located inside Ibusa Liaison Office, is the mother of all halls, something event planners in the community appreciate. Major roads are sometimes occupied for party use, causing gridlock with motorists diverted to other impassable routes inside the community where they are hinderd.
Sworn into office on March 9, 2021, the Ozigbo Ozigbo man, Hon Esewezie has in less than 8 months structured up an executive complex inside the Akwukwu-Igbo Council Secretariat and now "Ibusa Liaison", according Mrs. Patricia Oyana, his trusted Aide.
"Hope you now understand why we call him the "Ozigbo Ozigbo Man," asked Mrs. Oyana also popularly called "Patoski."
UK-based Akamesike Emmanuel Okonne, founder of Anioma Voice, which Anioma largest online group has also commended Hon Esewezie. In post submitted to the forum, he tasked other council bosses in the region to stand up since Esewezie is not the only Council Chairman in Anioma.
In a related development, Hon Hilary Ifechukwude Okobi, another indigene of the community has reportedly completed the massive renovation of Okpulukpu Market in Nkpanyala axis of the community. Okobi, a Councilor and Member Representing INEC Ward B5 and DESSIEC Ward 17, Ibusa, has been receiving commendations from well-meaning sons and daughters of the community form home and abroad in appreciation of the delivery of his mandate.
Following series of publications that accompanied the Ibusa project, the people expressed pleasant surprise over the speed with which the 'neophyte', Okobi 'attacked' and attentively dealt with the ancient market of the people. Okobi, on democratically assuming office, completed the project in a record of 5 months and the project itself, is one of the biggest ever carried out by any elected Councilor in the community.
Political analysts foresee both Esewezie and Okobi, two relatively young men as political blessings to the community. Ibusa is known to suffer untold neglect in the hands of the state and federal government and often depends on self-help to meet up her needs. How far these duo can politically go will depend on their political traits and consequently, support of the Ibusa and Anioma electorates.
