 The Enuani: Who Are They? - Emeka Esogbue The Enuani people are one of the Anioma subgroups located on the West Niger Bank, Delta State, South-South of Nigeria. The dialect of the people, which is basically Igbo, is indigenously referred to as Enuani. Thus, the people as well as their metamorphic version of language is known as "Enuani." Interestingly, the Igala language is also spoken by the Ebu people.  Although they are known as "Anioma" Today, together with Ika and Ndokwa/Ukwuani, all of who collectively occupy the Delta North District in Delta State, the people had known and identified themselves as "Enuani" long before the arrival of the European missionaries and the evolution of the Anioma name coinage or etymology given social impetus by Chief Denis Osadebay.  The word "Enu-Ani" exists as two words that denote "High" and "Low."  How Issele-Uku Kingdom United the Ogboli Families of Anioma in a Conference, Issues a Communique  - Emeka Esogbue The Anioma people are becoming more socially united as Ogboli Quarters in Anioma communities met recently in Issele-Uku and were hosted by Diokpa Okonkwo Nduka Nwajei, the Onishe of Issele-Uku and Okpalabisi of Ogboli Quarters.  The Ogboli people in the Anioma communities of Issele-Uku, Ibusa,  Illah, Obior, Ogwashi-Uku, Akwukwu-Igbo, and Atuma Iga all came together to chart a socio-cultural course that will advance their well-being.  After the meeting in which a communique was issued on the way forward for the Nshi (Nri) migrants, they promised to unite more among themselves and also unite more with their kit and kin from the present Anambra State.  The Ogboli are migrants from Nishi (Nri Kingdom) in Anambra State.   A Brief History of Ibusa By Emeka Esogbue The Ibusa account of foundation depends on oral sources as continually handed down from generations, and also documented by the writers of the community’s history of origin. The community offers an example of a bipartite society, formed by two distinct movements from two dissimilar settlements that have now merged. Indeed, it is a federation of two autonomous communities considering that its major founders were from Nri and Isu of the Igbo outside the present Anioma enclave. Nevertheless, the modern community of Ibusa has the three founders being Edini (founder of Ogboli), Umejei (founder of Igbuzo) and Ishite (founder of Ezukwu).   Ibusa, an Igbo-speaking settlement as it exists today was founded in the 15 th century by two major migrations to the West of the River Niger Basin.
