Sheriff's Aide, Shimite Bello Cuts Birthday Cake with Bishops and Pastors in a Church Program

- Dr. Emeka Esogbue

It was the birthday of Ebu-born Chief Mrs. Shimite Bello, yesterday, and the succinct Biblical statement that "in the presence of God, there is fullness of joy," re-echoed inside the reverent church.

The venue was Voice of Solution Ministry International, Asaba, Delta State, where the Special Adviser to Governor Sheriff Oborovwere of Delta State on Trade and Export was the Guest Speaker of the programme themed "His Glory is Our Honour."

Shimite Bello, the Akpeli Ugo Fufu of Ebu Kingdom was seen amid Bishops and Pastors; in the Association of Pastors and Ministers Intercessory Nation, a one-day Ministers Submit, praying to God.

Also seen alongside the beautiful Anioma politician from the Enuani Nation axis, in the pictures that surfaced on Anioma Social Media forums were Apostle Dr. Tony and Pastor Mrs. Agafie, and Prophetess Juliet Nwachukwu.

Other Men of God present at the occasion include Bishop Charles C. Isicheli and Bishop Alexander Adugyamfi.

The Ebu Kingdom's Akpeli Ugo Fufu 1, took the opportunity to cut her birthday cake with prayers offered for her.

Yesterday's birthday witnessed several goodwill messages from family, friends, and political followers, which also included PEN MASTER.

More distinguished, perhaps, was her Aide, Amaka Akaeze, who posted on the People of Oshimili North (PoON) platform where Shimite Bello was illustriously celebrated.

Akaeze, who described Shimite Bello as her spiritual mentor, remarked, "We have stories to tell for 6 years. From a throwback to our first meeting many months ago to working with you over the years, it has truly been a pleasure."

"I look back and l am so pleased we followed our hearts and did what we believed in."

"It's been a tough year for you, but God held your hand and saw you through it all. Heavens are filled with joy today because it is your birthday," Amaka Akaeze said prayerfully.

"Keep being you, a lover of God's word and one of the smartest mentors, l know. Always a solution for every problem."

Not many knew that fine and elegant Shimite Bello shared a serious relationship with the things of God and never joked with her faith until her pictures flooded social media.

Happy birthday to Chief Mrs Shimite Bello, the Akpeli Ugo Fufu 1 (White Eagle) of Ebu Kingdom.

A SHORT HISTORY OF OBOLLO CLAN IN ENUGU STATE, NIGERIA By Emeka Esogbue Introduction Not many historical literatures on the Obollo people exist for the usual reasons associated with our people who prefer to write the history of mighty and populous peoples already enriched with volumes of historical accounts and records. Thus while there are historical documents on other peoples of Igbo, for Obollo, it is the story of dearth of documents. However, it is within my historical concern that the rich history of this part of Igboland be adequately researched into, documented and preserved for the future generation. I do not hail from this part of Igboland but my historical background, interest and curiosity propelled me towards the acquisition of both oral and written information to put this material together. Geography The various Obollo communities comprising of Obollo Afor, Obollo Etiti, Obollo Eke, Obollo Orie and Obollo Nkwo are strategically situated at the regional bou...

Umuezechime in Anioma: History and Identity Factor Resolved By Emeka Esogbue

Umuezechime in Anioma: History and Identity Factor Resolved By Emeka Esogbue Introduction Although the Anioma peopling the West Bank of the Niger River Basin have often been categorized as a people that wholesomely trace their origin to only one particular ethnic group of Nigeria by writers of history and other researchers from outside the Anioma region, numerous historical evidences drawn from the oral and written sources, and migration theories of the people confirm their heterogeneous origins. Evidently, all the peoples that now comprise the “Anioma” area originated from different ethnic groups of the Nigerian nation.   The above is confirmed by Osia (2012:6) who wrote: “History notes that the Anioma people trace their origins to various communities within Nigeria: Edo, Igala, Yoruba and Igbo. No history has proved these ancestries otherwise…” Esogbue (2015:14) further admitted that: “there is always tendency for researchers to an extent to assign the whole of...
