THE ANIOMA PICTURE OF THE MONTH
ANIOMA MONARCHS ALSO RECEIVE FLOWERS: THE STORY OF THE HUMANITARIAN ISSELE-UKU OBI
Several pictures have made the Pen Master's "Anioma Picture of the Month," but this one coming from Oligbo Issele-Uku is very unique.
Just as we see in the character of global monarchs, the Anioma monarchs also complimentarily accept flowers. The Anioma monarchs are modern after all and Issele-Uku, the ancient Kingdom of Oligbo is proving it.
As the picture here shows, on Thursday, HRM Agbogidi Obi Nduka JP (MNSE) is seen receiving a bouquet from an Akwa-Ocha-dressed young girl at St. Theresa's Maternity and Hospital.
This is against the considered thoughts of many that the Anioma monarchs are all about the acceptance of kola nut and nmaya je akwa (hot drinks).
The Obi of Issele-Uku has distinguished himself in many traditional fronts of the Anioma people. Just like the Omu of Anioma, the Obi is known to appear in the Akwa-Ocha of his Anioma people and not Agbada or any other foreign attire. Surely, promotes his own.
He is also a humanitarian who demonstrated this in his maiden edition of 'Iwaji Umuaka.'
During these visits, the Monarch left his Oligbo Palace with assorted items to St. Theresa's Maternity and Hospital and Great Saints Orphanage which he donated with cash of N100,000 additionally.
In recent times, the Obi has acquired fame while also putting Issele-Uku in the good book of Anioma cultural promotion.
This picture bears the message.
