Notable personalities from Anioma have saluted the Obi of Issele-Uku, Agbogidi Obi Nduka following the monarch's Izu Afia outing in the community recently. Patrick Nweike Ochei, publisher of Anioma Trust Newspaper reported the Obi of the community as emerging from his inner chambers of the Issele-Uku Royal Palace on Friday, to perform his first official outing for the 2022 annual festival known as Ine Aho.
The King dressed in red royal apparel was seen publicly, buying some commodities and paying for them inside the community's Afor Market where he also paid homage to the Queen Mother, Omu at her shop. Reacting to this important rite that preludes one of the biggest festivals of the people of Issele-Uku, the Omu of Okpanam/Anioma, HRM Obi Dr. Martha Dunkwu remarked that the tradition and values of the Anioma people are unique.
"The Omu is Queen Mother to all or Ezewanyi (female kings in charge of women)..."
"The Obi is setting a pace worthy of emulation. See class, see dignity, see respectability, see royalty at its best. I doff my hat for this Obi, who is prototype Obi of the 22nd century," the Omu said. Meanwhile, a prominent politician from Ibusa, Mr. Jude Adiefe had earlier heaped praises on the Obi, pleasantly surprised that he has grown into a great royal father.
"Issele-Uku is one of Anioma's strongholds when it has to do with the preservation of our people's culture. This community with Agbogidi Obi Nduka is definitely our pride," Pen Master - Emeka Esogbue emphasized.
There is no doubt that the Obi of Issele-Uku is at the forefront of good monarchical deeds in Anioma. The Anioma people can take pride in the personality of Agbogidi Obi Nduka of Issele-Uku Kingdom. I think we all have a king that our people can be proud of," he further said.
Prominent founder of Kinship ideology, Onowu Chuks Esogbue has also pointed out that Omuship is a beautiful gender and sensitive heritage. According to him, our culture must not die as we must keep the torch burning.
