Naomi's World Plans Skill Acquisition for 80 Ibusa Youths

Naomi's World Plans Skill Acquisition for 80 Ibusa Youths

An Illustrious daughter of Ibusa, Naomi Dada Okoisor under her auspices of Naomi's World has concluded arrangements to hold the 2nd Annual edition of Naomi's World Annual Skill Acquisition/Empowerment program in which a whooping 80 youths from Ibusa will be successfully trained in areas of pastry catering, soap-making make-up, and wig-making. The candidates are drawn from all quarters of the community without exception.

Successful candidates will also be encouraged with prizes after the program as an economic motivation to set up on their own.

The founder, Ms. Naomi Okoisor, one of the biggest catering names in the community, believes that it is her own way of empowering the youths, male and female from the community and a way to further promote the human development of the community in her personal capacity. She has done it before and will do it again.

Already, Pen Master got wind of the names of some of the youths who have picked up their forms for participation

and the spirit is high.

"We cannot wait for the day to come," one of the girls said

"I don't know what to expect since it is my first time. Mama Dee personally called and contacted me to partake in it," said another lady, looking forward to the program

"Diokpa Pen Master, I can say that I am good at making cakes but the wig is my interest. I want to learn how to make wigs. It is the in-thing (sic) now in our Igbuzo and I need the knowledge," a male candidate told me.

Naomi's World is grounded in catering services in and around the Anioma region up to the far Southeast where their services are often requested and delivered.

This year's edition will hold inside the Umuodogwu Hall, Ogboli in Ibusa, Delta State. The date is from August 1, 2022.

Determined to make progress with the youths of the community, Naomi's World is calling for support and sponsorship from capable Ibusa sons and daughters to make this year's event a huge success.

Ibusa is one community that runs on self-help and from the least to the biggest projects, indigenes have discovered means to contribute their quotas towards the development of the community and this is just one of them.

A SHORT HISTORY OF OBOLLO CLAN IN ENUGU STATE, NIGERIA

A SHORT HISTORY OF OBOLLO CLAN IN ENUGU STATE, NIGERIA By Emeka Esogbue Introduction Not many historical literatures on the Obollo people exist for the usual reasons associated with our people who prefer to write the history of mighty and populous peoples already enriched with volumes of historical accounts and records. Thus while there are historical documents on other peoples of Igbo, for Obollo, it is the story of dearth of documents. However, it is within my historical concern that the rich history of this part of Igboland be adequately researched into, documented and preserved for the future generation. I do not hail from this part of Igboland but my historical background, interest and curiosity propelled me towards the acquisition of both oral and written information to put this material together. Geography The various Obollo communities comprising of Obollo Afor, Obollo Etiti, Obollo Eke, Obollo Orie and Obollo Nkwo are strategically situated at the regional bou...

Umuezechime in Anioma: History and Identity Factor Resolved By Emeka Esogbue

Umuezechime in Anioma: History and Identity Factor Resolved By Emeka Esogbue Introduction Although the Anioma peopling the West Bank of the Niger River Basin have often been categorized as a people that wholesomely trace their origin to only one particular ethnic group of Nigeria by writers of history and other researchers from outside the Anioma region, numerous historical evidences drawn from the oral and written sources, and migration theories of the people confirm their heterogeneous origins. Evidently, all the peoples that now comprise the “Anioma” area originated from different ethnic groups of the Nigerian nation.   The above is confirmed by Osia (2012:6) who wrote: “History notes that the Anioma people trace their origins to various communities within Nigeria: Edo, Igala, Yoruba and Igbo. No history has proved these ancestries otherwise…” Esogbue (2015:14) further admitted that: “there is always tendency for researchers to an extent to assign the whole of...
