 PROF VERONICA UFOEGBUNE OPENS WEBSITE FOR ENUANI PROVERBS

Ace USA-based Enuani teacher and philanthropist, Prof Veronica Ufoegbune has developed an educational website solely devoted to Enuani proverbs. Prof Ufoegbune, who has dedicated her academic efforts and projects to Enuani linguistics and charity announced this on Wednesday in Anioma Watch platform, created for the promotion of Anioma affairs. 


"This serves as a very useful educational tool, especially for our diaspora youth." 


"The website is totally free. There's no solicitation to buy or donate anything, though we would appreciate being recognized when our materials are used."


"The website is provided mainly as a patriotic public service, dedicated to our Enuani homeland and its people," the foremost philanthropist further said.


The website, headlined "Enuani: Tales, Traits and Proverbs of a Traditional Africa," is equipped with the Enuani sound of each of the proverbs that the visitor hears followed by an audio in English that renders the translation and context of the proverb. The Enuani, comprising the Aniocha and Oshimili are one of the subgroups of Anioma with the two other being Ika and Ndokwa/Ukwuani.


Born to Issele-Uku parents from Delta State, Prof Veronica Ufoegbuna also a High Chief of the Kingdom is noted for being the Matron of several Enuani groups. In April of this year, she donated prizes in sums to the winners of Nwada Anioma Beauty pageant won by Miss Gloria Idegwu from Ibusa with Francisca Jacob from the Ukwuani region and another contestant as the event's two runner-ups in Asaba, Delta State. 


Other dialects and languages spoken in Anioma apart from Enuani version of Igbo are Ika, Ukwaani, Olukunmi version of Yoruba, Igala and Ozanogogo version of Edo.


Prof Inno Onwueme, Bundo Oneueme and Malije Oneueme are named as the website developers as co-authors.
