SENATOR NWAOBOSHI RETURNS THE CREATION OF ANIOMA STATE ON TRACK
By Emeka Esogbue
The Delta North Senatorial District representative at the Senate, Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi at the Senate Committee On Constitution Review led by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, officially applied for the creation of Anioma State, supported by Anioma people.
The Distinguished Senator, has by this move set on path again, the biggest Anioma project in the civilization history of the people
Legislative Aide to the Senator, Awele Onokwai Snr who also confirmed the development today in Abuja wrote:
"The application, which drew commendation, applause and cheers from members of the Committee including the Deputy Senate President has generated even greater approval from notable sons and daughters from Delta State and beyond, including professor Oyevbaire, who, described the move as an "idea whose time has come"
He further gave huge credit to the region's traditional rulers, former Deputy Governor of Delta State, Chief Benjamin Elue and other Anioma sons and daughters for their genuine commitment to the Anioma cause.
The Ibusa people have since the days of nationalist, Chief Dennis Osadebay championed the Anioma cause of state creation with Senator Nwaoboshi becoming the second Anioma senator from the Ibusa community after Obi Senator Nosike Ikpo to officially move for the creation of the state in the country.
If Senator Nwaoboshi with the help of Anioma advocates succeeds, the feat is sure to leave his name on sands of time. Pen Master had a few years ago, in an article published in Nigerian newspapers reported that the proposed Anioma State is richer than more than 30 present states of the country in terms of oil.
