As His Birthday Knocks: A Glimpse Into the World of Obi Dr. Henry Ajudua

As His Birthday Knocks: A Glimpse Into the World of Obi Dr. Henry Ajudua

He came into the world on February 26 as Henry Chukwuma Ajudua, born to the distinguished Chief Henry Nkeolisakwu Ajudua and the equally esteemed Chief Mrs. Regina Obiageli Ajudua. He bore the name "Chukwuma" as a tribute to his father, a tradition that speaks to the deep sense of identity and continuity that would come to define the man he became. His roots run deep in the rich soil of Delta State: his father hailed from Umukwa, Umuodafe in Ibusa, while his mother traced her lineage to the historic community of Ogwashi-Uku.

Obi Dr. Henry Ajudua is the firstborn of eight children, a position that naturally confers upon him the Diokpa of the Ajudua family. The Ajudua name, rooted in Umukwa, Umuodafe, is among the most recognized and respected family names in Ibusa, carrying with it generations of community standing.

His academic journey began at the prestigious Edo College in Benin, Edo State, though the upheaval of the Nigerian Civil War interrupted his studies, as it did for so many young minds of his generation. Undeterred, he completed his secondary school education at St. Anthony College, Ubulu Ukwu, demonstrating early on the resilience and determination that would become hallmarks of his character. He went on to obtain his A Level certificate at the Federal School of Science, Onikan, Lagos, a stepping stone to even greater horizons.

With ambition as his compass, he crossed the Atlantic to the United States, where he enrolled at Long Island University in New York and pursued an impressive academic career, earning multiple degrees that would lay the intellectual foundation for a lifetime of impact.

Beside him in all things stands his beloved wife, Obi Okpoho Dr. Onyebuchi Henry-Ajudua (née Njideaka), a highly accomplished Doctor of Nursing whose dedication to healthcare mirrors his own. Together, they are far more than a couple; they are partners in purpose, a formidable team bound by shared values, a unified vision, and an unwavering commitment to the betterment of those around them. Those who know them often marvel at how remarkably alike they think, and how seamlessly they complement one another in both word and deed.

The Ajuduas are the proud founders of Vebron Carre, a reputable multinational healthcare organization with branches spanning multiple locations. Under their leadership, the organization has grown into a beacon of accessible, quality healthcare, complemented by three fully staffed clinics helmed by experienced family doctors. But beyond the walls of their facilities, the impact of Obi Dr. Henry Ajudua and his wife has been felt most powerfully in the communities they serve. Through generous and consistent free healthcare initiatives, they have touched countless lives within and far beyond the Ibusa community — a testament to the belief that those who have been given much carry a responsibility to give back generously.

Their philanthropy stretches across many facets of community life, too numerous to fully enumerate. Yet this year, the Ajuduas have turned their gaze toward a cause that is both urgent and deeply personal to the future of their society: the fight against substance abuse among the youth. In a bold and timely move, they are bringing this commitment to life through the construction of a dedicated substance abuse clinic, a facility that promises to offer hope, healing, and a second chance to young people caught in the grip of addiction.

Together, Obi Dr. Henry Ajudua and Obi Okpoho Dr. Onyebuchi Henry-Ajudua are the proud parents of six children, each carving their own path across a range of professions, a living reflection of the excellence and diversity their parents have always championed.

As his birthday arrives, it offers us all a moment to celebrate not just the years of a remarkable man's life, but the immeasurable good those years have produced and the many more good works still to come.

A SHORT HISTORY OF OBOLLO CLAN IN ENUGU STATE, NIGERIA

A SHORT HISTORY OF OBOLLO CLAN IN ENUGU STATE, NIGERIA By Emeka Esogbue Introduction Not many historical literatures on the Obollo people exist for the usual reasons associated with our people who prefer to write the history of mighty and populous peoples already enriched with volumes of historical accounts and records. Thus while there are historical documents on other peoples of Igbo, for Obollo, it is the story of dearth of documents. However, it is within my historical concern that the rich history of this part of Igboland be adequately researched into, documented and preserved for the future generation. I do not hail from this part of Igboland but my historical background, interest and curiosity propelled me towards the acquisition of both oral and written information to put this material together. Geography The various Obollo communities comprising of Obollo Afor, Obollo Etiti, Obollo Eke, Obollo Orie and Obollo Nkwo are strategically situated at the regional bou...
