Story By Emeka Esogbue

Ace Ibusa philanthropist, Pastor Idowu Okeze reassured the Ibusa people of better days ahead with donations of projects made to the Ibusa people on Friday.

In the spirit of love for the community, Okeze opened the CIDO Asthma Foundation, a state-of-the-art hospital with cutting-edge technology never seen in the community.

Pastor Idowu Okeze was commended by HRM Obi Prof Louis Nwaoboshi, the Obuzo of Ibusa who commissioned the hospital, for his unfathomable love, which inspired him to select the town as his location.

Two more roads, totaling roughly 2.5 km and built by the well-known philanthropist along the Umueze axis of the village, were also made available for traffic.

The two other community-commissioned projects of the day include the recently constructed fence of St. Thomas College, Ibusa, which he funded, the renovated Principal's Office with equipment as well, and a block of classrooms in the school that have newly disclosed furniture.

Utilizing the occasion, the Idowu Okeze team also inaugurated the recently constructed Obi Nwaokocha Okeze Event Center, which is outfitted with cutting-edge amenities. Individuals also received a total of 50 tricycles and an additional financial empowerment.

It was an event tagged an achievement for the people of Ibusa by his Aide, Dr. Pat Adigwe who also reported the event on Ibusa social medial platforms.

The Ibusa community located in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State is renowned for enjoying a large number of philanthropists, many of whom continue to sustain the community with self-help against the rare government presence despite its location within the Delta State Capital Territory Development Area and about 6 miles from Asaba, the state capital.

Geography The various Obollo communities comprising of Obollo Afor, Obollo Etiti, Obollo Eke, Obollo Orie and Obollo Nkwo are strategically situated at the regional bou...

Umuezechime in Anioma: History and Identity Factor Resolved By Emeka Esogbue

Umuezechime in Anioma: History and Identity Factor Resolved By Emeka Esogbue Introduction Although the Anioma peopling the West Bank of the Niger River Basin have often been categorized as a people that wholesomely trace their origin to only one particular ethnic group of Nigeria by writers of history and other researchers from outside the Anioma region, numerous historical evidences drawn from the oral and written sources, and migration theories of the people confirm their heterogeneous origins. Evidently, all the peoples that now comprise the “Anioma” area originated from different ethnic groups of the Nigerian nation.   The above is confirmed by Osia (2012:6) who wrote: “History notes that the Anioma people trace their origins to various communities within Nigeria: Edo, Igala, Yoruba and Igbo. No history has proved these ancestries otherwise…” Esogbue (2015:14) further admitted that: “there is always tendency for researchers to an extent to assign the whole of...
