Jubilation in Ibusa as Buhari Assents Institute of Strategic Management Act

- GIWA President, Ajumeze, Henry Ajudua, Philip Elueme, Others Hail Prof Uwandulu for the Uncommon Feat

Story By Emeka Esogbue

The people of Ibusa in Delta State have hailed outgoing President, Mohammadu Buhari for assenting the Chartered Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria (Establishment) Act.

The news was broken to the people of the community via social media platforms where it was posted on Tuesday by Prof Austin Uwandulu, the Institute's initiator and illustrious son of the community.

The visibly excited Uwandulu who is also the founder of the Academy for Governance wrote:

"Join me in thanking God for a dream come true as President Buhari, yesterday, signed into law, the bill that transferred the Institute that I pioneered and founded in Nigeria into an Act."

"The Institute is a precursor to the Academy for Governance that I am also implanting for the greatness of Nigeria."

Perhaps, perturbed by the situation back in his community of Ibusa and Nigeria by extension, the erudite scholar further said, "no matter the situation in Igbuzo and Nigeria, let us keep hope alive," in a message he signed off with his name.

Meanwhile, some prominent indigenes of the community have sent congratulatory messages to Prof Uwandulu.

The Guild of Ibusa Writers and Authors (GIWA), President, Dr. Henry Obi Ajumeze, on receiving the news, sent in his own goodwill message.

He wrote, "The approval of Chartered Institute of Strategic Management, is a clear endorsement of the hard work and intellectual efforts of Prof Austin Uwandulu, a worthy son of Igbuzo. It is interesting to note that a near replica of the same Institute, sits today in Igbuzo,  pointing us to a dream brought home for our peoples' benefit."

The Lecturer in Theatre Studies, School of Arts, Languages and Cultures, University of Manchester, sending a message of goodwill from GIWA, an Association that Prof Uwandulu belongs further said, "We at GIWA wants to use this opportunity to congratulate Prof Uwandulu and to urge our people to take advantage of this new development in coming to terms with the Academy for Governance."

In his congratulatory message, Vebron Health Care, founder, Dr. Henry Ajudua, full of praises, stated, "I am very impressed with this later recognition of your intellectual brainchild. The Chatered Institute of strategic Management Nigeria should have been adopted long ago. All the same, it is better later than never. We pray that it is well implemented by our incoming government.

Congratulations again."

Senior Legislative Aide to Barr Peter Onyeluka Nwaoboshi,  the Senator Representing the Delta North Senatorial District, Mr. Philip Elueme was not missing in action.

The Izu Anioma Activist who sent in his congratulatory message via Anioma Watch described the situation as

awesome, breathtaking, and a strong pointer to your uncommon pedigree as a leading strategic thinker and genius of the 21st-century Nigeria strategic leadership mantra.

He recommended Prof Uwandulu for National Award for institutionalizing the

Chartered Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria.

The Chartered Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria was among the bills assented to by President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday.

The Institute was founded in 2003 by Prof Austin Uwandulu.

A SHORT HISTORY OF OBOLLO CLAN IN ENUGU STATE, NIGERIA

A SHORT HISTORY OF OBOLLO CLAN IN ENUGU STATE, NIGERIA By Emeka Esogbue Introduction Not many historical literatures on the Obollo people exist for the usual reasons associated with our people who prefer to write the history of mighty and populous peoples already enriched with volumes of historical accounts and records. Thus while there are historical documents on other peoples of Igbo, for Obollo, it is the story of dearth of documents. However, it is within my historical concern that the rich history of this part of Igboland be adequately researched into, documented and preserved for the future generation. I do not hail from this part of Igboland but my historical background, interest and curiosity propelled me towards the acquisition of both oral and written information to put this material together. Geography The various Obollo communities comprising of Obollo Afor, Obollo Etiti, Obollo Eke, Obollo Orie and Obollo Nkwo are strategically situated at the regional bou...

Umuezechime in Anioma: History and Identity Factor Resolved By Emeka Esogbue

Umuezechime in Anioma: History and Identity Factor Resolved By Emeka Esogbue Introduction Although the Anioma peopling the West Bank of the Niger River Basin have often been categorized as a people that wholesomely trace their origin to only one particular ethnic group of Nigeria by writers of history and other researchers from outside the Anioma region, numerous historical evidences drawn from the oral and written sources, and migration theories of the people confirm their heterogeneous origins. Evidently, all the peoples that now comprise the “Anioma” area originated from different ethnic groups of the Nigerian nation.   The above is confirmed by Osia (2012:6) who wrote: “History notes that the Anioma people trace their origins to various communities within Nigeria: Edo, Igala, Yoruba and Igbo. No history has proved these ancestries otherwise…” Esogbue (2015:14) further admitted that: “there is always tendency for researchers to an extent to assign the whole of...
