Ibusa Confers Uwolo Chieftaincy on Amaechi Nwaenie Emeka Esogbue All roads led to Ibusa for the investiture ceremony for the conferment of Uwolo on Chief Amaechi Nwaenie. This all important event for the community took place on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the palace of HRM (Obi) Prof Louis Nwaoboshi, the Obuzor of Ibusa in Umueze quarters of the community. Anioma Essence can authoritatively report that guests started arriving at the Umueze palace venue of the ceremony as early as 8 am to witness the event. The Uwolo is a warlord and the leader of “Otu” Uwolo, one of the three “otus” that exists in the community with the other two being the Odogwu and Iyase. These three traditional positions are highly respected in the community. In ancient Ibusa, they were Army Generals that led the community to wars and also defended her against eternal aggressions. “Odogwu” is etymologically of Igbo while “Uwolo” and “Iyase” are of Benin etymology.
