Ibusa Community Development Union (ICDU) Mourn Okwechime

Dr. Austin Izagbo, the President-General of Ibusa
Community Development Union (ICDU) has expressed shock over the death of Chief
(Col) Michael Nduka Okwechime (retd), a war veteran who
according to report
died on February at 84 years. The President-General in a statement lamented the
loss, describing it as a hurtful condition for his family and entire people of
Ibusa.
Izagbo recalled that Okwechime was a patriotic Nigerian who
played significant roles towards socio-political Nigeria especially in sports;
he delivered to the nation both as a military officer and as a civilian. He emphasized
that he was a leader worthy of emulation by the present generation for the leadership
roles played by him.
He also stated that until his death, Okwechime served in
various capacities ranging from Nigerian Football association, National Sports
Council now National Sports Commission to the apex leadership of Izu Anioma,
leaving behind remarkable values. The PG as he is fondly stressed that the Anioma
community and Ibusa people in particular would miss him. He therefore, on
behalf of Ibusa Community Development Union Worldwide prayed his soul to rest
in perfect peace.
Until his death, Chief (Col) Okwechime, a soldier, administrator
and civil engineer was the Olikeze of Ibusa.
