London Metropolitan Police honours Ibusa’s Peter Okonji By Emeka Esogbue Mr. Peter Pan Okonji on Friday, June 15 received the prestigious award Asquith Gibbes Award from the London Metropolitan Police. The award pointed to his able leadership, dedication and commitment to Sydenham’s young people. The Nigerian-born philanthropist and a former footballer who hails from Ibusa, Delta State has demonstrated selfless contributions to mankind at home and in the United Kingdom. At one time, he sponsored the National Association of Ibusa Students secondary quiz and Ibusa and remains a regular supporter of the annual Ibusa Football Tournament. However, this particular award is coming from far away United Kingdom where the recipient is based. Mr. Peter Okonji who was on ground to receive the award in company of his wife was full of smiles.
