Today I welcome sons and daughters of Ibusa to Ibusa Community Union Assembly. Ibusa is a town where celebration has a home; Ibusa is a town where culture has a root, but over the years there has been a watering down of certain basics because of moral malfunction which has DWARFED the identity of this great town.
We want to start a march to MORAL REARMAMENT and rectitude to bring back the greatness of the old – the age of Umejei and Chidi Nwoji; the great warriors. Greed, apathy, division and exclusivity are negative factors that will not advance the unity and progress we crave for.
Let us go into the inner recesses of our hearts, search our consciences and ask ourselves if we are contributing to the development of this town or taking advantage.
The choice is ours to make amends;
The choice is ours to unite Ibusa;
The choice is ours to lift her up.
Today Ibusa is THREATENED;
Today Isunambogu is not united!
Today Isunfuogujunni is no longer responding to the clarion call.
Today we shall call on God and the spirits of our ancestors to reawaken and rekindle our sensibilities to the realities of today to enable us chart a new course.
In the course of developing IBUSA, some names are loud – Onwa, Admiral Ezeoba and the new man on the block, Distinguished Senator Nwaoboshi. We hail and salute their dedication.
The past leads into the present and with a positive mindset the future would be remedied.
It shall be well with Isunambogu.
It shall be well with all of us.
May God lead the way.
Thanks.
ONOWU CHIKE EMEFIE.
